As a former travel blogger I did the same thing, traveling the world for 5 years ticking off every destination I could to feel better about my external achievements.
Both in yoga and travel I ran away from my insecurities by keeping myself busy with ego-inflated checklists to make me feel like I was doing enough.
Despite previously living my dream life, I was constantly on the run from my doubtful thoughts of self-hate, judgement, and exceedingly high expectations that always lead to disappointment.
My yoga practice began to shift to one where I started to accept myself, away from purely physical intentions.
